In 1 Corinthians 9:17, Ephesians 3:2, and Colossians 1:25, the apostle Paul writes that an oikonomia was given to him. Such usage of oikonomia does not denote God’s eternal plan. Rather, it refers to Paul’s divine commission and service in and for God’s economy. Hence, oikonomia in these verses carries the sense of stewardship.
